Friday Favorites: Weekend in D.C.

Happy Friday! I though I would expand the Friday Favorites to more topics then just baking. Last weekend my family and I went to D.C for vacation. We left Friday and took a walking tour of the National Mall, which was free. I found online a company call free tour by foot. It was a 2-hour tour with a tour guide. We lucked out because there were only 20 people in our group. The tour guide was awesome and knew a lot of the history behind the monuments. Here are some photos.

On Saturday I started my day early. My parents decided to stay in. I walked to Chinatown Coffee Co. It was highly recommended. I am not a coffee person but I love tea. In addition to drinks they had amazing pastries.

I got an iced peppermint tea because it was 90 degrees out and I got an orange cranberry scone. The tea was slightly sweetened and the scone was flaky and buttery. I would love to go again and try something else.

I then went to the Newsueme. It is a museum that is all about journalism and news. I loved it because I am a history geek. Everyone should check it out if they visit DC.

In the afternoon I need a pick me up. On the way back to the hotel I went to Teaism. It was so cute! I go another mint tea. They also had food, which looked delicious.

Sunday we left early so I was not able to go anywhere else. I highly recommend Chinatown Coffee Co. and Teaism.

Have an amazing weekend!

Love Katie ❤

p.s I have more photos I just can’t find them. I will upload them later.
