Sorry this week there is not going to be a recipe because my oven is broken. I really hoped to post a recipe about bake doughnuts. I got back to college on Sunday so I will be able to bake and post next week.

Happy Monday!!! Other wise know as Bachelor Monday!!!! Does anyone else watch? I kinda in love with Ben.
Anyway that is not the point of this post. I want to let you know there won’t be a recipe today because I have no stove because the downstairs of my house was flooded and the repairs aren’t finished. I will try and bake and post a recipe by Thursday.

Sorry I haven’t posted since Saturday. I planned everything out but I didn’t take in to account how much school work I would have. I really want to post more and consistently. I will now be posting on Friday and Sunday. Friday may not always be Friday favorites. I hope that it’s okay. Last weekend I want to Baltimore to visit my friend at John Hopkins. Tomorrow there will be a post on my trip.

Happy Friday!
Sorry I haven’t posted in a week. It has been crazy this week because it is the last week of summer school and all my final projects are due. With the school year starting I wanted to make a set schedule that I can commit to. I will be posting every Monday, Friday and one random day. My friend Carissa will be posting every Thursday. So each week there will be two recipes. I have a lot planned that I think you all will love. I will be continuing the Back to Basics series and starting another in the middle of September.

A couple of months ago, I started doing Pilates through YouTube, and I stumbled upon Blogilates and Cassey Ho. As I started exploring the YouTube channel, I discovered that she has a “mini series” of sorts called Cheap Clean Eats. It’s all about recipes geared towards people who want to eat healthy on a budget. I have tried many of her recipes, but my personal favorite is the Peanut Butter Dorm Cookie! She posts new recipe videos every so often, and I hope she comes out with more soon because I just can’t get enough!

Hello! I am Katie. I am 19 and a sophomore at Stony Brook University. I am a Biology, Pre-Med major with a minor in Business but I have a passion for baking.
I am starting this blog as a creative outlet and something fun to do in my stressful life. My favorite teacher Ms.McCue created the name KatieKakes for the future bakery she hopes I will open.
You might be wondering… What is the blog about?
It is going to be all things baking. I plan on writing how to’s, reviews, and Friday Favorites. Friday Favorites are going to be my favorites of things relating to baking such as, local bakeries, tools, and ingredients. My best friend’s sister, Carissa, is also going to post in Carissa’s Corner.
