I love living close to the city. I live Long Island about an hour away. It is great because I can go for a day anytime of the year. Last weekend my friends and I went to Central Park. This was my first time there. It is crazy because I have lived here my whole life but I haven’t done tourist stuff. One day I want to be a tourist of my own city. Anyway, we took the train to Penn Station and the 2 Subway to Columbus Circle.

My friend Kasmika took this photo. She is amazing and is starting a blog. Everyone should read it when it goes live.

First thing we did was get lunch. I found this adorable café Épicerie Boulud by Lincoln Center. There was so much to choose from. From breakfast, lunch and desserts. The macaroons looked amazing. I got a vegetable Panini and potato chips.

We then took out lunch and had a picnic at central park. My friends and I found a giant rock o sit on and enjoy the beautiful day. Behind us was a baseball field and a guy was playing the saxophone. After, the picnic we walked around for a little and then rented bikes and rode around.
Riding a bike in the city in the streets is a scary thing. Since it is against the law to ride a bike on the sidewalk we had to ride with cars and trucks. I am only 5’1” and even with the bike seat at the lowest my feet couldn’t reach the ground.

Riding around central park was nice except, you can’t ride in the actually park. You can only ride around the perimeter. I would suggest getting lock so you can leave the bike if you want to see something specific in the park. We had to walk the bikes to get certain places.

We first went to the literature path that lead to the Bethesda Fountain and Lake. This is where a lot of movies are filmed. In the movie Enchanted, the song “That’s How You Know” was filmed there. We saw a gymnastics troop showing off their skills.
Next, we went to the Delacorte Theater where Shakespeare in the park, the Swedish Cottage and the Belvedere Castle. I was gorgeous and I wish I had more time to look around but we had to return the bikes

Before going home we stopped at Sprinkles, the first cupcake only bakery. They have expanded to ice cream and cookies. There is even a cupcake ATM!!!! I got four cupcakes; red velvet, chocolate chip peanut butter, sprinkles, and S’mores. All of them were top-notch! I also got a kids scoop of mint chip that was in the cutest and smallest cone. I cant wait to go visit again!

Have a wonderful weekend!
Love,
Katie ❤
Note: Sorry I haven’t posted. I am still trying to get back in the swing of things at school. I will try to be better this week. Right now I am on a train to Baltimore to visit a friend but the internet connection is bad.
